Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving!

We had a great Thanksgiving with most of our family gathered together. My sister from Alabama and her family came over, and my mom and dad flew in from Idaho. David's grandma flew in from Florida and his other set of grandparents drove over from Alabama. We were only missing David's sister Kristen who lives in Korea right now, my oldest sister Heather and her son who live in Wyoming and my sister in Iowa.

Here are Zoey and Nathan decorating the turkey cookies. As you can see from the picture below, the did a fantastic job.
David and Anderson, I think there are some resemblances there.

I tried to get a picture of Nathan and AJ in there matching outfits, but neither of them wanted to cooperate, Nate's shirt came off after this picture so he could go play.

Look at those eyes.

Grandpa and Anderson-grandma passed AJ to grandpa when he was hungry, so this is the best picture I got of them.

Great grandma Roberts with AJ

Cooking the turkey. It was deep fried and delicious! We had a great time, and lots of food and fun (and got home just in time to go out Black Friday shopping).

One thing I forgot to write, we all had cups with our names on them, and Nathan went to my mom's cup and said "M A R L A, that spells grandma". It was very matter-of-factly and also very cute.

2 months old

AJ turned two months old today! We took him to his doctor to see how he is growing. And boy is he growing! He weighed in at 13lbs 10oz (85%), he is 23 3/4 inches long (24%) and his head is 15 1/4 inches (45%). His doctor said everything looked good. He is starting to talk to us more and to smile at us.
Here are a few pictures of AJ from the last few days. The one with the tie and Nathan in the blue sweater are the boys ready for church. My friend Carley made the cute onesie for AJ, and I love it. I am going to have to make him some more, since he is growing so fast.

Look alike?

I found this picture earlier this week of Nathan, that was taken when Nate was 4(ish) weeks old. So I thought I would post one of Anderson. AJ is 7 weeks in this picture, but I think that you can definitely see some family resemblances, AJ just has way more hair.

WOW!

6 years! Wow, it doesn't even seem like it has been 6 years since we got married. It has been the best 6 years of my life, being married to my best friend. I look forward to spending the rest of eternity with him too!
I love you David! You make me super happy!

Our trip to Florida

We drove down to Florida the 18th of October, to see Daddy and Gran. We took our new van so that David could see it. We stayed with him for the weekend, and took Nathan bowling for his very first time. He had a lot of fun. The first time he rolled the ball it went right into the gutter and slowly rolled down. It was rolling so slow that about 3/4 of the way, the ball stopped and we had to get someone to come get it for us.

Nathan was very interested in the ball return. He thought it was magic. He would roll the ball down, then it appeared back on the rack. He kept saying "abra ca dabra".

Nathan had the lightest ball they had, 6 pounds. It was still pretty heavy for him but he didn't want any help.

AJ had a good time just sitting there watching everything.

On Sunday we drove down to Punta Gorda to see Gran (David's Grandma), she just got back to Florida (she spends Summers in Calgary, Canada and winters in Florida).
We went to a old train depot that had some train stuff for Nathan to look at. It was an antique shop too, so we didn't spend much time in there.
Gran's birthday was on the 25th, so we were there to celebrate with her. The above picture was the only picture taken from her birthday party. We invited some of her friends over for a pizza party. Nathan was excited because Gran let him blow out the candle on her cake.
The weather was so nice that Nate decided he wanted to play in the pool- except mommy forgot to pack any swimming stuff.
Gran and her great grandkids
On our way back we stopped and saw daddy again for a night. We played at the park and the lake beach there at Camp Blanding. Nathan was having a lot of fun, until he fell in the water. It was funny, but he didn't think so.
Hooray! Daddy comes home on Saturday!

trunk or treat

Our ward trunk or treat was tonight. It started raining just as it was time to start the chili dinner, so we moved in to the gym. When it was time to go car to car, they decided to move it outside since it had stopped raining. One of our friends held Anderson and handed out our candy so I could take Nate around. He had a lot of fun saying "trick or treat" to every car. He had to keep checking his pumpkin to make sure they were putting candy in it. It started raining again, just as we were finishing up. Batman had a lot of fun!
Nathan decided what we were all going to be this year. He had it all planned out. He said, "I am going to be Batman because I'm the strongest. Daddy is going to be a witch and mommy gets to be the princess. I am going to put the witch in jail and rescue the princess". I asked him what AJ was going to be and he told me that "AJ gets to be a witch too". Since he had obviously thought about it, I decided that we would dress up like he wanted us too. Nate has a really good imagination, it is really cute some of the things he comes up with.

Batman- the strongest

Nate was so cute when I put on the princess crown. He held my face between his two hands and told me that I looked "so beautiful".After the trunk or treat, Nathan was excited to eat his candy, and AJ wanted to eat too. All in all it was a pretty fun night. I just wish that daddy could have been here to enjoy it with us (only 8 more days)!
Happy Halloween!

Swagger wagon

Since my family is coming out in November (for AJ's blessing) we decided we had to buy a new car. Not because our other car is to small and won't fit everybody and we would have to take both of our vehicles everywhere we went, but because my family is so snooty that they can't be seen in the same car twice (because of that, I fully expect them to help with the payments).
We bought a minivan! I have to say, it is pretty awesome. I like it a whole lot, and that makes me a nerd, I know. But as far as minivans go, this one is really sweet. It has everything we wanted in a new car, and stuff we didn't know we wanted but are glad we have now (seat warmers & lazy susan for movies and toys, back-up camera, oh and heated mirrors). I drove down to Florida in it last week, to show David and it was great! Nathan watched movies and Anderson slept.

So, make fun of me all you want to, but until you've had a ride in my swagger wagon you won't understand (unless you already drive a van- in that case, you know what I'm talkin about!).
