Halloween 2017

Kylo Ren, Batman and Wonder Woman had a fantastic Halloween this year in our new neighborhood. Tons and tons of kids and so many homes to visit!
Our night started off with losing AJ. We finished dinner and we started getting costumes on when a knock came on the door. We passed out candy to a group of 5 or 6 kids. Shut the door, finish getting the kids ready to head out. About 3 minutes later I said, "where's AJ"? And I knew immediately that he had gone trick or treating with the group that came by. David headed out the door to find him and sure enough, he found him about three houses down, trick or treating as happy as could be.
When we finally did go out, AJ tried so hard to catch up to the group but we lost them.
Nathan kept trying to give his candy out to the people handing out the candy. And then it got cold and the kids decided they were done, so home we headed. There, Nathan handed out the candy to the remaining trick or treaters we had. He is such a giver!

Grandma Rygmyr came to visit!

Grandma sent herself as a gramma-gram! We didn't have time to take her sightseeing much but we did get to go to the zoo and have manicures. We also assembled a super great grill that Grandma bought us as a house warming gift. And we are so glad she was with us at the Fall festival (see next post).

Our golf pro!

While Grandma was here visiting, we went to a Fall festival at David's school. They had lots of fun games to play and prizes to win. The first game Nathan played was a golf game with little Velcro balls that you got onto the felt wall target. David was showing Nathan how to hit the golf ball. Nathan swung the club and with a very nice back swing, hit David right in the ear. I took David to the bathroom to clean it up and get a closer look at the wound. We found that the club sliced through the ear and cut the scalp as well and that we would need stitches. Luckily, we were so close to the hospital we just walked there and Grandma stayed at the festival with the kids.
David ended up getting 11 stitches in total. They had to call an ENT in to stitch up the ear because they were afraid it might have cut the cartilage. He had 2 inside stitches and 5 surface stitches on his ear and 4 stitches on his scalp. They had to put a bolster on it to prevent cauliflower ear and they had to Pierce his ear twice to put it in. Ouch.

Primary program

Well, the Rygmyr children did not disappoint! They were dressed adorable, their hair looked good and they sang well. When it came to doing their parts, that's when the fun began. Nathan read his part and then, as the other children came up to sing, Nathan said into the mic, "this is weird". AJ said his part in a robot voice with a "beep boop" at the end. And cute little Tessa said her part just right, but most people couldn't understand her "I can be fise and not foofish by foffoeing heavenly fafther".
Well, another year until we have to go through that again.

The pursuit of great pictures...

Another trip to the temple after church to try and get cute pictures of the kids. Today was successful!

Butler's Orchard

Some friends from church ( Huband's) invited us to go with them to a pumpkin patch. They have two boys the same age as Nathan and AJ. We had a lot of fun in the slides, in the corn maze, jumpy house, hay barn and magic maze (think hay parkour). We had a whole day of fun and came home with a bunch of pumpkins!
