Half Marathon!

Bonnie asked me two weeks ago if I would run the Savannah Women's Half Marathon with her. She had signed up to run it with a friend but her friend was not able to run it. I was not prepared at all, I said yes anyway. I figured even if I walked most of it I could say I did it.

We left Friday afternoon and got to Savannah with barely enough time to pick up our race packets and walk back to our hotel. We stayed the night at the Thunderbird Hotel "the hippest place to play in Savannah". It was kind of cool, they had RC Cola and Moon Pies for us in our room. On Saturday morning we stopped in the office for the continental breakfast before walking to the race. The Thunderbird Hotel was serving o.j. and Krispy Kreme doughnuts for breakfast. We got to the race about five minutes before it started and then, off we went! We started out running and after two or three miles decided to walk a mile, run a mile. We did that until the eleventh mile, then we had to run half a mile walk half a mile all the way through the finish at 13.1!
It was so physically exhausting! But we did it! We finished in 2:57.16! Under three hours! I was planning on it taking us four hours. We maintained a 13:24 mile pace for 13 miles. I am quite proud of myself for this accomplishment. I don't however plan on running another one any time soon.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

A little leprechaun visited our house and left us a delicious rainbow!
 Too cute to pinch.
Nathan made a cute leprechaun hat at school, he was wearing it when I picked him up.

books and tutu's

Monday was such a beautiful day! Tessa loves to jump on the trampoline so I propped the screen door open so she could come in and out. She must have decided that it was the perfect weather to read outside. While I was in the kitchen making dinner I heard her out on the trampoline talking. I peeked out the door and saw her reading her "Brown Bear Brown Bear What Do You See" book. It was so cute. She was just sitting there with her book in her tutu lap (She loves wearing tutu's!).

It's fun to play at the YMCA...soccer that is.

Getting ready to start the game
We decided to put the boys in soccer this year (Nathan wanted to play baseball but we convinced him to play soccer instead so he and AJ could play the same sport). We signed them up through the YMCA. They aren't on the same team, but they both play on Saturday mornings- AJ at 09:00 and Nathan at 10:30 and only Nate has practices during the week. Anderson was very unprepared. He seemed to have no clue what was going on and since he is our shy one, it took a little more convincing to get him into it. Hopefully he will get better as the season goes. Nathan however had a great time. He makes friends so easily, he had no problem getting in there and playing with his new team.

Tessa loved watching and kicking the ball on the sidelines.

Go AJ go!

High fives!

Nathan warming up

Nathan scored a goal! When he came off the field to get a drink we congratulated him on his goal. He the responded with, "I didn't score a goal, my team scored a goal". It sounds like the "team player" attitude we are trying to teach him is working!
With Coach Snow - his team decided their team name will be the Snow Monsters.

Rygmyr/Buttle cruise 2015

We decided to take a trip with our great friends the Buttles -no kids! It was a great idea. I was very anxious though to leave the kids. We had aunt Heather come out to stay with with Nathan, AJ & Tessa. With Heather briefed, we headed to the airport, ready for vacation! (Feb. 28)
 Arriving in Houston
After we arrived in Houston, we found that Spirit Airlines lost one of our suitcases (We had ONE flight). So Sunday morning we had to go shopping to try to replace some of the items we had packed in their. After After that, we found out that our cruise boarding time was delayed so we found a YSA branch to attend in the greater Houston area. Then we drove to the port of Houston. We got there and it was pretty foggy, but we didn't care, we were on vacation!

This is going to be great!

Because of the heavy fog, we were unable to leave port on Sunday, so we stayed the night- in port and on the ship.
Playing croquet while waiting to set sail on Monday.
 My way awesome friend Katie!

Playing trivia, we did a lot of that on the ship but never won.

 Monday morning fog

 Finally on our way!

We ate tons of great food the whole trip!
 Great company!

 Tendering into Belize City

We went zip lining and cave tubing in the jungles of Belize. It was SO much fun, my favorite part of the trip.

After our first zip the "chicken run".

Yay!

We're in the jungle!

On our way back to the dock, our driver stopped and picked up some oranges along the roadside. Then he told us to put some salt, pepper and spice seasoning on them. I think I prefer regular oranges.

We found Ma & Pa's house while we were in Cozumel, before we went shopping.

Goodbye trip. I can't wait to do it again in two years. It was such a great time.
The only good thing about vacation ending, was coming home and seeing my babies! Heather took great care of them and had a lot of fun too. Thank you so much Heather! We were able to have a great time and we knew that the kids were alright. (Mar. 08)
