Snowpocolypse 2.0

After 2 snow days with no snow, we finally had a snow day with SNOW! It started falling slowly but then picked up pace and the snowflakes were snow clusters. They were like cotton balls falling from the sky. At first the kids weren't interested in it, because there wasn't much to play with and it was just cold. Once there was a good bit of accumulation on the ground they started to get excited! We bundled up and headed outside. The snow was still falling big and fast. The kids kept getting hit in the face with big snowflakes and complaining. After playing in our yard Nathan and I walked over to his friend Aniah's house in our neighborhood and built a snowman with her family. On our way back home we rolled a snowball, by the time we got back home, it was gigantic!
Today we are on our fourth snow day this week, there is still some snow on the ground- not a whole lot though.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentines day everyone! This year we decided to take pictures for Daddy for his Valentines day present. Unfortunately, our weather has been really cold so the day we went out to take pictures it was 46* and windy (that had been the warmest day all week). Because of that, we didn't quite get the smiles I was hoping for. But, they turned out pretty cute anyway!

Strike a pose

I love this picture of AJ

We had to make a box for Nathan to take to school for his Valentines. This is what we came up with- a soda box mail box.

Nate gave mustaches out for his Valentine this year. Here he is in his "Bandit" mustache
On Valentines day grandpa Rygmyr watched the kids so David and I could go out. We decided that to miss the crowds, we would go a little earlier that normal. So we left the house at 4 and headed to Lenox mall where there is a Garretts Popcorn (from Chicago). For some reason, traffic was terrible and it took us 2 hours to get there! Once we finally got there and found the Garrett's, the line was really long, but we just drove two hours, so we weren't leaving without some Chicago mix! We waited an hour for some delicious popcorn (and yes, it was worth it!). We had decided to eat dinner at The Vortex and since traffic was so bad we thought we would take the train to midtown. When we got to The Vortex, the wait was 1 1/2 hours so we walked around and found something else. We found The Barrel House close to Georgia Tech and ate there. We had delicious hamburgers without the wait. Then, we had to walk back to the MARTA station. When we got off at our stop near the mall we found out that it had closed- luckily a very nice guy opened the doors for us so we didn't have to walk around the mall to get back to our car.
By the time we got back home, we had walked 3 1/2 miles on our adventure! It was fun though, we hardly ever go downtown, so it was fun wandering around. And the best part was who I got to wander around with! It wasn't quite the date we had in mind, but it turned out to be a lot of fun.
The best popcorn-worth the wait!

AJ at the dentist

AJ had his first dental check up today, and it went great! Well, sort of. A few minutes after they took him back, one of the assistants came to tell me that they couldn't get him to settle down and sit still in the seat. She said if they couldn't get him to settle down they wouldn't be able to do the exam and cleaning. Then she told me that they have a blanket that they could wrap him in to get him to stop wiggling but they needed my permission to  use it. I signed the waiver and they went back to work on him. When they brought me to see how he was doing, he wasn't wrapped up, he was laying there so good. When they were finished AJ came out with a bag full of goodies (including the shirt in the picture). He was so proud of himself! They didn't do x-rays this visit, but said they couldn't see any trouble spots.
Great job Anderson!

Where's Tessa

Tessa loves to play "Where is Tessa"? Usually, she plays it while sitting in her car seat but today, she climbed in the tv stand in her room and played. I am amazed she was able to get into the cubbie and shut the door.

Nathan's Sickness

Nathan: I don't think I can go to school tomorrow, I feel like I might throw up.
Audrey: Tomorrow is Saturday, I guess you can just spend all day in bed if you are sick.
Nathan: Oh, I am going to save my throw up for Monday then...

Nate's Fact book about Bears

Nathan brought home this book about bears last week. I thought that he did a good job on it, so I decided to publish it here for posterity.

                                                      Bears have Big Ears

                                                  Bears live in a Cave

Bears eat fish in a lake
He drew a fish in a bear's belly, and a bear in a fish's belly

Daddy and the Lunchbox

A few weeks ago, David had to bring a lunch to work for a long training event, and the only lunch box that we had that would keep a lunch cold was Nathan's lunchbox for school. David used it, but then left it at work every day for about a week. He felt bad about stealing his son's only lunch box for so long, so he wrote Nate a book about what happened to make him forget it for so long. The blog site won't let me make the pictures bigger, so you may have to click on the pictures and scroll through to view them.

Nathan's PE show

Nathan was selected to be one of the Kindergartners to perform in the PTA P.E. show. After the PTA meeting they brought the kids in to perform. As Nathan was walking in, he was looking all around for me, but couldn't find me. As a result, he ended up on the far end of the gym and I wasn't able to get very good pictures. They danced to three songs and then demonstrated the parachute. It was pretty cute to see some of the fun things he is learning at school. Unfortunately, David had class and was unable to make it this time.
