A (not so) easy Sunday morning.

Sunday mornings are usually pretty hectic at our house. David leaves for church meetings at 06:15 and I am left to get the three kids and myself ready for church by 09:00. Luckily this Sunday we had extra hands to get everyone ready. I was getting ready when I heard grandma Anderson yell in the basement. Turns out that the water heater had broken and flooded in the unfinished part of the basement (thank goodness). Grandpa Anderson, Bonnie and grandpa Rygmyr all helped to vacuum up all the water and we were able to make it to church on time.
After sacrament, grandpa Anderson headed back home and with grandpa Rygmyr's help, they bought and installed a new water heater. The problem was fixed by the end of the day and no one would have known there was a problem at all!

Thanksgiving

David got an early birthday present from his dad, a new smoker! He was so excited about it, he decided to break it in on Thanksgiving day. He smoked a delicious and juicy turkey, to make it a wonderful Thanksgiving with much to be grateful for.

We have a six year old!

 Happy birthday Nathan!
On Friday, I surprised Nathan at school for lunch (second time in a week) since his birthday fell during Thanksgiving break.
For Nathans birthday David and I surprised him with a trip to the LEGO Discovery Center in Atlanta. It was so much fun for the whole family!

We had lots of fun riding the LEGO castle ride. Each of us had our own gun to shoot the trolls, skeletons and spiders.

 We did some Ninja training,
 saw a wizard,
 built and raced cars,
 met new friends,
And had an all around good time!
Daddy & AJ riding Merlin's flying cars

We built a jail out of Duplo bricks
AJ broke out of the jail

And we all enjoyed the 4D movie. The kids thought the glasses were really cool.

After all the fun, we stopped in the LEGO store and let Nathan pick out a new set. He picked the police station that he had been wanting for quite some time.

Nathan,
I can't believe you are six already. It seems like yesterday that we were bringing you home from the hospital. You have been and are such a joy and blessing in our lives. I love watching you grow. I am so glad to be your momma. I love you Nate bear.
Love,
Mommy

A Thanksgiving feast

Nathan's school had a Thanksgiving feast this week for parents to come to. I got to go have lunch with my favorite Indian. They could choose to be either an Indian or pilgrim. They decorated the costumes all by themselves.

Aunt Heather and Thomas came to visit!

While Heather and Thomas came to visit we went to Marietta Square for the 150th anniversary of the burning of Marietta (Battle of Kennesaw Mountain).
We met (and voted for) Abraham Lincoln.

It was very nice to meet Thomas, we really enjoyed his visit.

While they were here, dad and Thomas got the idea to put in a new front door. I love it! It was a great idea. (They also "fixed" our water heater).

Mommy's birthday!!!

Nathan wanted to give me a birthday surprise this year. After I picked him up from school, he had David take me out shopping. When we got back home he had decorated the house and bought me flowers. It was the sweetest gift I could get. I love the tender heart of my Nathan!

For dinner we got to go to my new favorite restaurant, Tom & Chee (grilled tomato and cheese)! It was a great day to turn 35!
