Pine Wood Dirty car

Our Elders Quorum had a PineWood Derby Race tonight. We got our block of wood last Sunday, and made our car during the week. Nathan decided that it should be a Batmobile, so that is what we made. He was so proud of how his "awesome car" looked.

Grandpa came with us so he could watch Nathan's car race. Anderson found that grandpa had the perfect place for him to put his bottle, and still be able to drink it.

Our car had to race in the "anything goes" category because it weighed too much. Regular rules a car cannot weigh more than 5oz., ours was 6.6oz.
Nathan hated waiting for his turn, but found comfort in playing with all the other kids there while he waited.
Anderson trying to figure out how to get some of daddy's popcorn. He likes popcorn just like his daddy!
Nate's car in the first lane

We took third place in the "anything goes" category, fortunate for us, there were only three people racing.
So happy he got a prize!
On Monday morning David and Nathan went to Lowes and Nate kept asking if they could build the "dirty" car. David had no idea what he was talking about until they got home and I told him the derby car. It was cute that Nathan kept calling it his dirty car.

Our new kitchen floor

David was supposed to go on a trip to Florida this week, but it was cancelled, so we decided that instead, we would re-do our kitchen floor.  We tore up the old laminate that was down, and put some backer-board down.

We liked the idea of a mix of different size tiles, but we couldn't tell a pattern at the store, so we came up with our own pattern.
Nathan was such a big help mixing the underlay.
David was in charge of cutting the tiles, and I was in charge of laying the tiles (that was a lot more work than cutting).

All laid, and ready to grout.
David grouted half and I did the other half. Clean-up took us a while.
Tile done. Baseboards in. Oven and fridge back in place. All finished! And it looks great! We love it!

Little miss

We went to the doctor yesterday, and they did an ultrasound. We got to see our sweet little girl. Looks like she might be a finger sucker like her big brother, Nathan. We tried to confirm that it was a girl, but she did not want to cooperate.

The last Twinkie!

Last year when in t-ball, when it was Nathan's turn to bring the snack he decided he wanted to take Twinkies. Some of those kids had never had a Twinkie before, sadly, they never will again. We had some left over and occasionally Nathan would eat one. Well today, he ate the last one. Since Hostess went out of business, we will not be able to share any of their delicious treats with any of our other kids, Nathan will always be able to hold that over their heads.

What can I find today?

Mi mi mi...

So our little AJ woke up, and as usual the first thing that he said this morning was "mi mi mi mi mi mi." In fact, every time he gets in front of a screen of any type that is what he says. His new vocabulary consists of, "Down, tickle tickle, please, thank you", and some other short words but mainly he says "mi mi mi mi mi" and this is why. He wants to watch this video 24/7.
