And we are (almost) off!

Today, we enjoyed our last day in Maryland! We were able to ship our van off and spend the day with friends . Tonight, we are staying in Crystal City, before our 0600 flight. Tomorrow night, we will be in Hawaii.....for the next three years! We have absolutely loved our home here and the friends we made. We will miss them greatly (hopefully they will come visit us). We are very excited to turn the page and start the next chapter, but sad for this chapter, after 4 years, to close.  Aloha!

Homeschool science!

We have been having a lot of fun with our new science unit, energy!

We learned what energy is, and how it is transferred.

We learned about atoms, molecules and heat.

It has been very fun learning together!

Happy Halloween!

Because of the Corona virus, Halloween was a little more distanced this year, but our awesome neighborhood still made sure the kids got plenty of candy! In the morning, Tessa went with her friend Hope and her family to get some chocolates signed by President Trump from a friend who works at the White House. In the evening, we had dinner with the Cox's before heading out around the neighborhood. We picked up a few friends along the way, and then left the boys at our house to hang out while the girls kept going! Abby, Hope and Tessa came home with full trick or treating bags! It was a pretty "sweet" night! Nathan and AJ were both characters from a popular game, Among Us. Tessa was a fairy princess, Abby was ghost spider (spider Gwen) and Hope was spider man (Miles Morales).

Our first broken bone

Nathan fell at the park on Thursday and hurt his arm. We came home and iced it and he seemed ok. Of Friday, we went with aunt Llew to Cape Henlopen in Delaware. Nathan was fine until he shook some sand off his hands and grabbed his arm. So, Saturday I decided to take him to the ER to get it checked out.  They did lots of x-ray's and found a buckle fracture on his radius and another fracture on his elbow. His elbow never even hurt him. They had to cast it, and Nathan was a trooper!  He did it without any pain medication. Now he has a super cool cast for the next four weeks!
**Update** We went back on for a follow up appointment, they took more x-rays and decided there wasn't a break in Nate's elbow after all. They cut the top part of the cast off and Nathan is loving having his elbow back!

For Field trip Friday, we went to Cape Henlopen, Delaware.  Since we just finished our Marine Biology unit for school, the beach was the perfect place to celebrate.  We explored the State Park, got wet and found some fun critters. It was aunt Llew's first trip to Delaware, and it didn't disappoint. After the beach, we went into Lewes and town that claims to be, "the first settlement in the first state". It was such a cute little town! There was a building that had a cannonball stuck in it from the War of 1812. Honestly, I thought the cannonball would have been a lot bigger.  The whole trip was a lot of fun!

A visit with Daddy!

Daddy is still rotating at Fort Bragg, but has a long weekend for Columbus Day so let's meet in the middle! We met in Petersburg Virginia. We had a fun time exploring the civil war battlefield and town. Daddy taught the boys how to skip rocks on the Appomattox River. Even though our time was short, we had a lot of fun seeing daddy!

Happy 3rd birthday

Happy 3rd birthday Dodger!! What a good pup you have been to us, and especially to Nathan these last 3 years! We are so glad you are a part of our family.
