Building the National Cathedral

The National Cathedral in Washington DC is doing a fundraiser to to raise money to do some necessary repairs.  They decided to do a massive Lego replica of the cathedral, so I took my kiddos down to join in on the fun. They were able to place a few bricks each and see the progress that has been made. It was a lot of fun. They had hard hats and safety vests for the builders to wear. I am glad that we did it.

Sleepover!

Tessa and Hope ask for a sleepover on an almost weekly basis, they were so happy to have one tonight!

Oh yeah, and a super gross thing happened to Natasha, She was outside the other day and came in with a bump on her throat. We didn't think to much of it. She started sneeze coughing, so I took her into the vet. She suggested we change her cat litter, maybe she had allergies. Well, tonight, she was sneeze coughing on the kitchen table and a MAGGOT came out of the lump on her throat! What!! That is SO disgusting! I took her back to the vet. They said a fly must have laid an egg on the cut. Super gross! Luckily, there was only one in there.

A quick trip to Raleigh

We to a quick weekend trip down to Raleigh North Carolina to go to the Raleigh temple open house. It was beautiful and well worth the trip! It was so nice to be able to be inside a temple again. We have certainly missed our DC temple and are so excited for the open house and dedication next year!

Picture Day!

These cute kiddos are ready for school picture day today!

And, Tessa had to get extra fancy because she has a date tonight! She is going on a Daddy Daughter Date. David had "Fancy Friday" at the hospital, so it was the perfect opportunity for a date night. David brought Tessa flowers and walked her to the car. They went to dinner and dancing at O'Charly's. It was pretty sweet and Tessa was so excited!

Happy Birthday Anderson James!

AJ is 8!  Anderson has been looking forward to this birthday for quite some time. He has been so excited for his baptism. And what a wonderful day it was! AJ was baptized by his dad on Sept 14th 2019 in Kensington Maryland. Aunt Llew flew in to be there for his baptism, and she gave a talk on the Holy Ghost. Our friend, Kelly Fisher gave the opening prayer and Paul Andreason filled in for grandpa Anderson (Grandpa and Grandma Anderson are serving a mission in Minneapolis Minnesota and unable to make it) by giving the talk on baptism. Brad Jensen and Daniel Fisher served as the witnesses. It was such a special day for Anderson and our family. We are so proud of the decision AJ made to be baptized and follow the path of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

AJ, you are the sweetest, kindest, happiest, cuddliest 8 year old! You are a peacemaker in our home. You are sensitive to the needs of those around you and I hope you develop the ability to become sensitive to the Holy Ghost and to listen to our Heavenly Father. We love you! May your smile continue to light up our lives for many years to come!

AJ's Birthday Surprise!

AJ has been asking to go to Chuck E Cheese, so we surprised him with an early birthday present! We had his friend Teddy over and Tessa's friend Hope came along too. Then we told them we were going for a ride. When we got out of the car at Chuck E Cheese, AJ was SO excited! He had so much fun playing all the games with Teddy, and David! It was so cute to watch him.  He is such a sweet boy, and his excitement is contagious! After C.E.C, we came back to the house for some chocolate birthday cake. Happy (early) birthday AJ!
