Boris

Boris has adjusted well to the new house. He has explored a little outside but he stays close to the house. He really loves our new couch! It is his favorite place to sleep and he loves watching our the window for bunny rabbits.

More exploring

David has to report tomorrow, ending our awesome family Summer (the kids still have another month of vacation) so we decided on one last adventure. We drove into D.C. (which is 8 miles from our house). We had planned on going to the natural history museum but the line was extremely long! So we decided to walk around and sight see some. We saw the White House and then decided to walk to the Capitol building. That was a long walk and it started to rain but we made it!

Our first adventure in MD

We decided we needed to take a fun break from unpacking so we headed to, the National Zoo. We decided to take the train, so we drive to our chooses station bought our new Metro cards and of we went.
Once we got to our zoo stop, we had to walk a little way to get there but when we got there we just walked right in. We enjoyed exploring and looking at the animals but we started getting tired of walking before we saw the whole zoo. We decided to head back home and the back to the train seemed to take forever. Good thing there was a 7-eleven on the way, we stopped and got slurpees.
We never got lost, we made it home without any problems. It was a great day with a fun adventure.

Welcome to 4213 Brookfield Dr. Kensington, MD. Boxes, boxes everywhere! We sure have our work cut out for us for the next few days as we turn this house into our new home. But we are up to the challenge and excited!

Moving day

So many mixed emotions!
Excited, sad, grateful, nervous, happy and scared.
We have waited and anticipated this day for so long! It is finally here. We are so excited to go but so sad to leave.
We know that Maryland is where we are supposed to be but that doesn't make it any easier to say goodbye to our family and friends.
We certainly are excited for the new adventures that last ahead!

One last date in the ATL

Grandma and aunt Kristen offered to watch the kids for David and I so we could have a last date in Atlanta before the move. Yes! I finally got to go to a baseball game at the new SunTrust Park, unfortunately, the Braves were playing the Cubs and tickets were almost $80 each (to sit four tires from the very top). Oh well, last chance to go for the inaugural season. We had a great time at the game but in the bottom of the ninth, the Braves lost.
The next morning we used our indoor skydiving gift certificate that we got from Aunt Bonnie and Uncle Russ. It was a lot of fun!! The instructor even let me go up and down and do turns on my own and David got to do the super high fly. That was a great Christmas present!
What a fun last date. Thanks Atlanta, we sure are going to miss you.

Off to Florida!

We talked to Gran Rygmyr, and she was heading to Calgary/Winnepeg for three weeks. We decided we needed to go see her before she left and we moved. After Grandma Rygmyr got off work Friday morning, we loaded up in the van and drive to Florida.
First stop was to see Gran. Unfortunately, because Helen was leaving town she had to put Davis into an assisted living facility while she was away so we didn't get to see Helen much on Saturday during the day but we did see her in the evening. Sunday we were able to spend most of the day with her and even go visit Davis before leaving Monday morning.
Monday we drove to Legoland! The kids were super excited! They kept asking to watch the Legoland commercial at the beginning of the Lego Batman movie. We had such a blast there! The boys ride their first rollercoasters, AJ loved it and Nathan had a love/hate relationship with them. They got to have pictures taken with Emmet and President Business. They tried their best ninja skills in Ninjago. The kids all got their drivers license, we built a lot and rode Lego horses. The second day was spent mostly at the water park splashing, riding sides and floating the lazy river. We all had a great time at Legoland and can't wait to go back again!!
After two full days at Legoland we had an awesome beach day in Jacksonville! The weather was perfect, the water was perfect; in short, the day was the perfect way to end our awesome Summer of avenue before the big move!
