Tessa's blessing

Today was a very special day for Tessa. David was able to give her a name and a blessing. Grandpa Anderson, Bishop Mark Settle and Greg Bishop were able to stand in the circle with them. Tessa looked so beautiful in her first white dress. It was hand-made by a sister in our ward (Christine Schardt). It was beautiful! Thank you so much sister Schardt! Here are some pictures form the day. You might notice in one of them that her fingernails are painted. Aunt Heather painted them pink to match her bow.

Also, Tessa turned two months old yesterday. Her doctors appointment went well. Here are her stats from her check-up: she now weighs 10lbs 10oz (35%) she is 22inches long (30%) and her head is 14 1/2 inches (14%). She also got her first shot, she cried loud for a minute, but the she was ok. We love our little girl so much! It has been a fun two months.

Nathan's first day of Pre-K!

Yesterday Nathan started his first day of Pre-Kindergarten! He LOVED it! I wake him up at 06:45 (I'll have to move it to 06:30 instead because he putters around so much). When I woke him up he said, "I need more rest". Then he rolled over and went back to sleep for a few minutes. He was so slow eating breakfast that he was almost late for his first day. When we got to his classroom he told me he was a little nervous, but we went inside and found his backpack hook and chair, then he was fine.

When I went to pick him up at 2:12pm, he was SO excited. He had a really fun time. He told me about the song they learned ( "stop what your doing, look at the person, listen to the person") and the signs that go with it. He told me about finding the boy named Bayne (he was the one in the red shirt). I asked him if the playground was little or big and he said, "it's medium big". He told me his teachers names (Mrs. Tallis and Mrs. Sophie).
I am glad he really enjoyed his first day of school!

Pioneer Day

Our Stake had our yearly Pioneer Day activity on Saturday. It was up by the Alatoona Dam. It was a really nice day. They had lots of activities to do, one of them was pulling handcarts. Nathan and AJ had a lot of fun riding in and pulling them. Jeff James gave us all a ride, before the boys decided to pull it themselves.

Cow appreciation day

Chick-fil-a had their annual cow appreciation day, where if you dress like a cow, you get your meal for free! Nathan loves their chicken sandwich (with extra pickles!) but he did not want to go because he didn't want to dress like a cow (he said he would dress like a chicken though). I had some cow print in my sewing things from a failed Halloween costume a few years ago. We printed out ears from the Chick-fil-a web site and cut a hole in the material to make a cow poncho, then put eye black on their noses and headed out for dinner. We ended up paying $3.45 for our whole family to eat dinner (they counted the sign on Tessa as a costume too). We had a fun family night out for dinner.

4th of July

Our Fourth of July was kind of boring this year. It rained the whole week before, and the rain didn't go away on the fourth (in fact it rained that whole week too). The city of Kennesaw does their firework show on the 3rd, but it was cancelled because of weather. Marietta cancelled the parade and fireworks, and Acworth also cancelled their fireworks spectacular. There was nothing to do except get wet in the rain. At least we had aunt Bonnie to play games with (she came over to spend the weekend with us since her family went to Ohio). We griled hamburgers and corn on the cob and then lit some fireworks before it started raining on us. Hopefully we will be able to go to the fireworks show when they reschedule it.

(Oh yeah, Anderson wanted to wear the Superman outfit all day. He did not want to put on his 4th of July shirt. That is why he is wearing those pants.)
