Tessa's birthday!

HAPPY HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY TESSA!
On Tuesday (June 10th) we celebrated Tessa's birthday with a cupcake, ice cream and a present or two. Tess was very skeptical about the cupcake until David got a spoonful of icing for her on it, then she loved it.

After her post cupcake bath, mommy got her dressed (and didn't do a very good job of that, the "x" is supposed to go in the back of the outfit) and did her hair in her first pigtails. They were adorable on her!

On Saturday we had Tessa's birthday party. Aunt Bonnie and cousin Zoey came over Friday night and helped us decorate on Saturday. Our house looked SO cute with pink everywhere.
A game of Hungry Hungry Hippos before the party

Tess had lots of help opening her presents.
She got a doll, princess castle, Minnie Mouse airplane, some clothes and her first purse.

SO cute!

Loving it! (and the attention too!)

Tessa,
It is so hard for me to believe that you are one already! This year has gone by so quickly and you have grown so much. I love your sweet personality. You are so full of BIG smiles! You love your family so much, and your family loves you so much too. Nathan is so eager to help you learn new skills, like crawling and walking- he likes teaching you. Anderson loves to watch you master the new skills Nathan has taught you, he is always pointing out your successes. They both love you so much.
I don't have words to express how much I love being your mommy. Raising a daughter is so different than raising son's. You have melted my heart with your smiles and your snuggles. I love you so SO much!

Nathan lost a tooth!

On the last day of school, Nathan came home with a loose tooth. For the last three weeks it has continued to wiggle. Well tonight that all changed! Grandpa Rygmyr was over and he and Nate were playing, then Nathan stopped and came to show me it was bleeding. I had him get a paper towel for the blood. I asked him if I could see it, so I wiggled it and it was really loose so I pulled it a little and out it came! We were both shocked! Nate cried and I tried not to freak out. He was crying because it was bleeding and "now I don't have a tooth"!

The tooth next it it is wiggling too, in another few weeks we will have to go through all this again. We had asked Nathan what the "tooth fairy" brings, to see what his expectation was. He was under the impression that he would get a gold coin. Uhhh.... So being the genius that I am, I went to the bank and got a roll of Sacajawea/presidential dollars and put it in his shark "tooth fairy pillow".
He loved it in the morning, he was super excited about his gold coin.

Nathan's swim lessons

We signed Nathan up for two weeks of swim lessons a your YMCA. The first day, was a big fail! He didn't get in the water at all-he just sat on the side of the pool shivering. After the lesson was over, I went into the pool area and told his teacher that she just needed to get him into the water and make him do all the things they were doing. The next day went SO much better. He got in the water and had a lot of fun. He did pretty good, he still can't swim by himself, but he gained confidence in the water and had a blast! It was worth it!

Aunt Llew's visit

Aunt Llew came out to visit us and we had a lot of fun with her! She got to go to Nathan's Pre-K graduation, Aunt Bonnie's house and the zoo.
