Pettit Creek Farms

Last week we had cousin Kyler and Zoey while they were on Fall break. We decided to go to a pumpkin patch/corn maze. We went to Pettit Creek Farms in Cartersville with grandma Rygmyr, aunt Kristin and Atkins. When we first got there the place didn't look like much, but we when we got inside we were pleasantly surprised. There was a lot of fun to be had!

There were pig races!

Jumpy slides and bounce houses

camel rides!

Pony rides

AJ didn't want to ride the horse at first, but the second go round he LOVED it!

Nathan insisted on riding the donkey!

A hayride (where you could feed camels and see zebras)

And a skyjump!

It was a beautiful fall day and we all had a lot of fun. The kids all got the chance to ride the camel and the ponies and feed the goats. The corn maze we went to last year was MUCH bigger. This one was pretty small, but they had so many other things to do that it made up for being lost in corn husks all day.
We had a lot of fun with Kyler and Zoey here ( Jake was with uncle Russ at a Karate conference while aunt Bonnie was at work).

Favorite pictures

Since we got Nathans school pictures back yesterday,I decided to post a favorite picture of each of our kids. This one is my favorite of Nathan, I love his super sweet smile.

This is one of Anderson sliding on his birthday swing set. He has so much fun playing on it!
Tessa is so adorable in this picture. It is one taken by a co-worker of Davids at our family day.

Shriners pumpkin patch

All weekend Nathan has been asking to go to the pumpkin patch so we decided to go this morning to the Shriners pumpkin patch that we always go to. I rained all night last night, so it was a little soggy but we were still able to have fun and pick out the perfect pumpkins!

Anderson was so proud of the pumpkin he picked out. he wouldn't let anyone help him carry it.

Also pretty proud of the pumpkin he picked out

Nathan decided that his pumpkin needed to be buckled up for safety, so it rode between them in the car.
Unfortunately, because of the wet conditions we didn't stay long, so we forgot to get a family picture with our pumpkin family. Maybe if we get a chance, we can go back before the pumpkin patch is gone.

Kids are sweet.

Nathan was so excited about school this week, unfortunately, on Tuesday his school called to tell me he had a fever. I picked him up at 10:30 and brought him home. He didn't have any other symptoms, so I was hoping that he would be able to go back to school on Thursday at the latest so he could participate in the cultural celebration. Well, all week he kept getting a fever every 12 hours. In between that he was fine, still no other symptoms.so today he was still unable to go to school, very disappointed. Since Nathan's class was highlighting Scotland, grandpa Rygmyr gave him a can of Haggis to take in. We decided that we would take the haggis in and see the castle they built (side note, I got a refrigerator box from Lowe's for it last week and made Nathan's day- mom of the year award!). When we got there and Nathan saw the kids in his class it was so sweet. His friend Alex came up to Nate and put his arm on Nates shoulder and said "Nathan, it's so good to see you". Then all the other kids came up and swarmed around him. We were only there a few minutes. When we were leaving, Madison (the girl he carpools with) started crying. I looked at Mrs. Tallis and she told me that Madison has really been missing Nathan. It was very very sweet. I called Madison's mom to tell her, and she told me that every morning this week that they turned to go to school, instead of our house Madison has cried. I am so glad to know that my little boy has so many good friends at school. What sweet little kids!

Family Rules

David and Nathan were playing today, and nate kept talking about zombies, so david said "Rule number three: No brain eating in the house." We decided to get nathan to tell us what the rules of the house are. These are all his ideas (except for rule #5 and #3).

Rule #1: No throwing food
Rule #2: No spilling food
Rule #3: No eating brains in the house
Rule #4: Tickle Mommy's neck
Rule #5: Don't follow rule #4
Rule #6: No breaking AJ's batmobile
Rule #7: Always no biting
Rule #8: No hitting
Rule #9: No throwing balls at the lamp or TV
Rule #10: No breaking the doors

Then he said, "After we are done, we need to erase this, ok?"

Moses

In Primary on Sunday Nathan was picked to act out the part of Moses, to show what a good prophet he was and his service. Nathan did a great job. He was SO cute!

He also read the scripture Moroni 10:5, he said it perfectly. I am so proud of that little boy, he sure is growing up!

Anderson turns two!

Anderson had his second birthday on Saturday! We had a busy day planned for it! When the boys first woke up, we took them outside to show them AJ's big surprise. We bought him/them a swing set with a slide and club house. They loved it! Even though it was a chilly morning, we played out there for quite a while, red noses and all.

Then it was time to come inside and eat breakfast so we could go to "the birthday party". One of the boys from Nathan's class (Alex) was having a birthday party at BounceU. Since AJ could go for free, we all tagged along to the party. We all had a lot of fun, especially Nate. He had so much fun running around jumping and sliding with his friends from school. It was so cute to watch him play with them. AJ didn't like the bouncing, but he did have fun using the ball cannons and sliding. We even got a picture "blowing out" the candles on his cupcake.
After the party we came back home for pizza and presents with grandma and aunt Caitlin. AJ got lots of good presents! He got books and a stuffed Tigger, a Batman, a team umizoomi car and a Batman jacket. Then he had to go take a nap before it was time to go to the baseball game that evening.
We met aunt Bonnie and her family at Turner Field for the Braves game. Bonnie's work had extra tickets to the game, so we got to go for free (she even bought all our food and drinks). Zoey and Kyler brought a present for Anderson, he got a Batmobile. On the way home from the game all the kids fell asleep in the car. They were all so exhausted from a busy day of partying!
At two Anderson weighs 28.06 lbs (68%) he is 34 inches tall (37%) and his head is 19 inches (52%). He is developing very well. His vocabulary is growing everyday. His favorite thing right now is Batman. Batman anything. He likes watching daddy and Nathan play Lego Batman the video game and he wants desperately to play with Nathan's Legos, he calls them all Batman.
Anderson is such a sweet boy (most of the time). He does however have the capability to get into things rather quickly, which is frustrating. He has just started playing quietly by himself now, which is a great relief. We love his sweet smile and his belly laugh.  Happy second birthday Honey Bear!
