Icepocolypse

The national weather service called it "catastrophic" "mind boggling" and "historical". This time the city was prepared. School was cancelled and government offices were closed, which meant David was home this time.

The ice started first thing in the morning, our birds were having a feeding frenzy tying to eat as much as they could before it was time to huddle in their nest. We were huddled inside all morning but David did make it outside to refill the bird feeder which was frozen shut. David had to chisel ice off it to get it to open.
It iced all day and when the boys went out to jump on the trampoline and broke up the ice we measured it at 1 inch! The next morning we woke up to almost three inches of perfect snowman building snow! So that is what we did, we put rain boots on over our pajamas and headed outside to play! We used the snow from our neighbors yard and built a snowman slightly taller than Nathan. Then one of our neighbors brought a sled out for the boys to use so we used it on the driveway of the house next door. We accomplished all of this before nine in the morning. The boys were so excited that they were finally able to build a snowman this year.

im glad I got to see the remaining part of the snowman when I got here, and then have a snowball fight.
