Easter weekend

We had a very busy day on Saturday! It started off with an Easter egg hunt in Kennesaw. We got there just in time, so David dropped us off then went to park the car. We got to the field it was one minute before the hunt started. Nathan ran and loaded up on eggs, and Anderson picked up one and was ready to sit down and open it right up, but we chased after brother. In just a few minutes it was over. Nathan was very sweet, he was willing to share some of his eggs with AJ.

Check out all those eggs.

Yum!

Talking to the chief
Nathan has decided that when he "gets big" he wants to be a firefighter. A few days ago he drew a picture and said we could take it to the firefighters so they could put it on their fridge, and we could make them doughnuts too. Well we settled on making cookies instead. So Saturday after the Easter egg hunt we drove to the fire station. They welcomed us in and gave Nathan the grand tour! He loved it!

Amazed

They let him turn the lights on

Anderson wanted to check it out too!

Also amazed

They both got firefighter hats and coloring books.
Thank you to the Cobb County fire department for making our little Nate so happy!
After the fire station, we had to hurry back home to change clothes. We had baseball pictures to take before the game.
Cutest little Pirate!

Nathan really wanted to make a pirate face for the pictures.

I couldn't get a good picture of the individual shot, hopefully the one they took is better
Here are a few pictures of the boys in their Easter outfits. They looked so cute!
They do love each other (some of the time).

All in all, even though we had a busy weekend, we had a great weekend. It was so nice to be able to spend it together as a family. Sunday after church we went to visit Andrew (and fed the ducks a little bread even though we aren't supposed to anymore). Nate and AJ had fun chasing the ducks splashing in the puddles and throwing rocks in the pond. Both boys rode home without any pants on, they were both so wet (Nathan kind of fell in the pond).
You might have noticed that there were no pictures of Nathans baseball game. That is because he was to busy playing in the dirt and we were to busy telling him to get up to take any pictures. Hopefully he will do better at his next game.

Nathan's drawing for aunt Llew

Not to spoil the surprise for aunt Llew, but Nathan just drew this picture. He is getting pretty good at drawing, but what is really great, is how he can write his name. He did it all without any help! Great job Nathan. Aunt Llew better pay a lot for this picture...

AJ is officially in nursery...thank goodness!

Anderson turned 18 months on the 14 and this week (since we were out of town last week) was his first week in nursery. We thought he would go in without any problems, we were wrong. David took him in and Anderson held on to him as tight as he could. When he got down he cried and cried. One of the nursery leaders held him in her lap the whole two hours. Hopefully it goes better next week.
Here are a few pictures of the boys playing together. It is rare that they actually play nicely together, but today they did.

Nathans CTR4 teacher did have to bring Nathan to me during R.S. Apparently Nathan wanted to show all the kids in class his Superman undies. What was I supposed to say? I told him we don't show people our private parts, and Nate said, "I didn't those are inside my undies". Hmmmm.

P.s., don't they look so cute in their matching outfits.

Florida vacation (part 2)

On Tuesday, we were off to the Kennedy Space Center (we made it there after paying $7.00 in toll money & it was only and hour away)

There was a lot to see there that didn't really interest little boys (as you can imagine), but then we found the "fun" stuff.

Nathan really wanted to get wet in this fountain (because he was disappointed that he didn't get splashed by the whales the day before), we convinced him not to though so he wasn't wet the rest of the day.

This picture makes me laugh because it is Nathans impersonation of David, he even has a voice that goes with it.

One of the 5 engines from the Saturn V rocket

A gang plank that would lead the astronauts to the rocket.

Playing in a mock rocket capsule.

On our way to the Saturn V museum and launch site we saw a bald eagle just sitting by a swamp (on our way back we saw her nest).

The original control room from the Apollo 8 launch.

The rear section of the Saturn V

The mid section of the Saturn V. I guess I didn't get a picture of the top of the rocket, suffice it to say, it was enormous. I also cannot find the pictures I took of the vehicle assembly plant, but it was gigantic too!

We got the chance to see a rocket launch! At 5:21p.m. they launched the (we think it was, we can not remember, but we will research it and correct the information if necessary) Atlas 5 for sending up a Army satellite for missile detection. That was really neat. They did the ten second count down and then right after said "we have lift-off" It was about 3 miles away, so we could not see or hear it right away. But when we were able to hear it, it was loud and awesome.

It doesn't look very big in the pictures, but it was really far away.

It was a pretty fun day at the Space Center. Nathan thought it was really cool (and so did mom and dad) to see a rocket launch.
On Wednesday we had a little time before the baseball game, so went to see the Orlando temple. We would have gotten out to take pictures, but Anderson had just fallen asleep in the car and we wanted him to get somewhat of a nap in before the game.

It was beautiful!

While driving to the baseball game, I was telling Nathan a silly story, and he was just laughing and laughing. It is so cute to hear him belly laugh!

A perfect day for a game.

That right there is David Justice handing the umps the line-up card.

You can't really see it, but the scoreboard reads Atl 18 Pitt 9

AJ enjoying the game. He sat on David's lap for the first few innings watching the game and doing the chop.

Nathan had fun at the game too, after we got him some ice cream. I had told him we could get some Dippin Dots when we got there. After our unsuccessful quest we found a frozen strawberry lemonade that finally made him happy. After that, he played with his Lego's and watched the game. At one point he even yelled at the players "baseball ready".

Nathan off to run the bases.

ANderson (holding the mans hand) off to "run" (more like meander) the bases.

Nate crossing home plate

AJ, still on his way to second.

Making it to second.

And finally crossed home plate.

Post game family picture.

Anderson showing off his game ball that he got after he crossed home plate. The lady thought he was so cute, she gave him a game ball.

Playing with his new baseball

It was such a great day for a baseball game. It was overcast and not too hot, the boys were good, and the Braves won. What more could we ask for.
We had a really great vacation, we got to see lots of new and cool things. After the game we started driving home, ready to relax for the weekend.
