Nate and AJ Tricks

Our boys, especially AJ, have been learning new skills and tricks. AJ is walking now and standing up on his own; he has even learned to open the baby treat container and pilfer a quick snack. Nathan has been learning lots of songs from Sister Issa in primary, and is getting better and better at sitting in his seat and listening to his teachers. (Every week he gets a pep-talk about the three things he needs to remember to do: #1 sit in your seat, #2 be reverent, #3 listen to your teachers) Here is a quick video of them showing off. (When nate says, "But I don't need any help" he means that he didn't need any help with the words to the song)

What time is it?

It's daddy time!

Nathan and Anderson just LOVE it when daddy comes home! AJ gets a huge smile on his face and Nathan loves to open the door for him, then he runs to tell me that "daddy is home". It is really cute.
One thing Nathan loves to do is ride on daddy's back when daddy is doing push-ups. David loves the extra 30#'s. This time we decided to let Anderson have a ride to adding an extra 20#'s. AJ was confused, but held on like a champ.
Another thing Nathan loves to do with his daddy is play games with him. Nathan likes to play the "robot" game (Portal 2). David likes it, because he gets to play games.
The black controller is actually mine, but Nathan told me "This is a boy game. It's not for girls" so I had to give up my controller so all the boys could have one.

They are all very focused on the game, and they should be, they are boys after all.

Date night

Friday night was date night. We arranged with grandpa and grandma Rygmyr for Nathan and Anderson to have a sleepover. Nathan was very excited about it.
We met grandpa Rygmyr at the Hilton in downtown Atlanta where we traded cars and he took the boys back home with him. David and I headed to Atlantic Station for dinner. We got there and had to decide where to eat. I chose BGR: The Burger Joint (I chose it because the name of it reminded me of RG Burgers in Carmel). We walked in and got in line when one of the employees came up to us and told us that our dinner was going to be FREE! The restaurant was not yet open to the public, but they were doing training so we could eat anything and everything we wanted for free!
All for free!

The bite

After dinner we headed to the Braves game. David and I always try to kiss on the old Fulton County Stadium home plate (it, along with all the other bases are bronzed in what is now the blue parking lot in their original places).
Row 11
I got David tickets for Fathers day, and they were awesome seats!

It is hard to tell that all the power is out, except when you look at the jumbotron!
In the second inning, the stadium lost all power. It was crazy. They delayed the game until they got all the lights back on. I told David that if there ever was a time in our life to start a riot, this was it. But we calmly and patiently waited in our seats.
On Saturday David and I had lunch at the Sundial restaurant. A restaurant that is on the 72nd floor of the Westin hotel in downtown Atlanta. It spins while you are eating to give you a 360* view of the city. It was REALLY neat, and the food was delicious.
AJ's silly new face he makes
While we were having a great time, so were the boys!

Grandpa, grandma and aunt Kristen took Nathan and AJ to the animal farm zoo. Nathan has gone there several times before, but this was AJ's first time.
Look how big I am!

Cheese!

Thank you grandpa and grandma for watching Nathan and Anderson. It seems like we all had a great weekend!

(3rd &) 4th of July!

Our fourth festivities started on the third when we went to downtown Kennesaw to watch the fireworks display they put on (apparently they have an agreement with the city of Acworth, we get the 3rd and they get the 4th). We got to see aunt Kristen for the first time since she got home from Korea (on the first), unfortunately, mommy forgot to take pictures. Grandpa, Kristen, Atkins, Caitlin, Drew and the Buttle family all came with us.
Nathan, Kendalynn and Logan enjoyed running around before the show started.

 Setting up camp

AJ just crawled around on the blanket until the fireworks started.
 Silly kiddos!
As always, Kennesaw put on a fantastic firework display. After we got back home Nathan entertained us with a "talent show". Nathan stands on the tv stand and clears his throat then says "ladies and gentlemen presenting (insert name here). Then that person has to come up to the stage and sing a song or tell a joke or something like that. He mc'd til past 11.
On the 4th we got up, had a rough morning, then headed to Marietta for the parade. That ended up being a bad idea. Nathan was tired and grumpy, the parade was late and it was hot. We didn't last very long before we gave up and headed home for a nap at 11:30.

Before meltdown

During meltdown

After a nap, much happier.

Anderson is actually walking to me in this picture, and Nathan is excited about it.
I don't know why they are both making this face, but it is really cute.

I love Nates pose here.

Our dinner that David smoked (it was delicious).

The audience
The evidence

David had all of the kids convinced that "snakes" are the best firework. Katie told them that it was snake poop, and they thought that was awesome.

Anderson was so tired, two late nights in a row

Cute

Nathan likes fireworks just as much as his mom and dad do!

Nathan and his second best friend (That is what he told me. His best friend is Thatcher Bishop) Kendalynn, super cute!
We had a great couple of days. Also on the 3rd, David had his Army anniversary- 9 years and hopefully a promotion coming soon!
