And we are off!

On Sunday, the kids and I drove over to Boise to stay the night at my friend Carley (Porter) Pickett's house for the night, before heading off to Hawaii on Monday! Thanks Carley and Myles!  We are so excited to see dad, and to have a Summer full of adventures!! When we landed in Hawaii, daddy picked us up at the airport and had lei's for Tessa and I. It was a looong flight, mostly because I made the decision to go screen/tablet free for the Summer, and United didn't have screens in the seatbacks for us to use. Hopefully the rest of our "screen free Summer" goes better!

Our Idaho Adventure!

We had a lot of fun during our Idaho adventure! We got to see our whole family! We celebrated Braedons birthday, ate lots of snow cones, played in the tree house and with neighborhood friends, and even mommy's friend Ms Sherri kids. We were able to be there for the memorial for grandpa and grandma Ross. Mommy and her sisters remembered grandpa Ross the best way they could think of, to wear coveralls just like grandpa Ross always did.  We got a lot of chuckles out of that at the luncheon in Newdale, after the service. Another reason for being in Idaho was so we could be at grandpa and grandma Anderson's mission farewell talks at church. Grandpa and grandma have been called to serve in the Minneapolis Minnesota Mission at the mission home. They will be leaving in July. They gave great talks, and I know they will be great missionaries! We are so excited for them! We fit a lot of fun into our 10 days at grandpa and grandma's house!

The road trip continues!

On Sunday. we had to take David back to the airport so he could go back to Hawaii. We were sad to see him go, but we while we were at the airport, we picked up another passenger for the second part of our road trip, grandpa Anderson! Grandpa flew in to join as another driver in our adventure West, and we are sure glad he did. The route we had planned to take us to Idaho took us from Minnesota to North Dakota and the up into Manitoba Canada (yes, this is how we planned the route) through Saskatchewan, into Alberta then back into the US through Montana before arriving in Idaho. We were in Minnesota for Steamboat Days in Winona, there was a big parade, and the Idaho spud truck was in it. When we were in Alberta, we tried to find grandpa's friend Barry Lee. After tracking down what we figured (and it turned out to actually be) to be his house, we were disappointed to find that he was not home but at an appointment and we were unable to see him. Grandpa was disappointed about that. We had a fun adventure regardless. Somewhere in Saskatchewan we saw a grey wolf sitting along the roadside, and another running in a field.
