Nathan had his very first piano lesson today. I had asked two of the families in our ward whose children play really well who their teacher was. They both had the same teacher. Last year I tried to get Nathan in but she didn't have any available openings. This year we were able to get in. Today Mrs. Margaret came over to meet Nathan and give him his first lesson. Nathan enjoyed it and did a great job. I hope he enjoys it...more than his mom.

The secret tunnel ( of doom?)
Anderson, Tessa and I went to the train depot park today. After they had worn themselves out playing, we walked to the tunnel. AJ kept calling it "the secret tunnel". When we got to it he made sure to point out to me that it was "not the secret tunnel of doom, just the secret tunnel".

Girls day!
Anderson told me that when he is at school, Tessa and I should have a girls day while he and Nathan are at school. He told me we needed to decorate for it. So, while he was at school Tessa and I decorated the house and then went shopping.

AJ is a Little Warrior
AJ had his very first day of pre school today! He was SO excited about it. In the morning when Nathan was getting ready Anderson got himself dressed and ready to go also. We walked Nathan to school and then came home before it was time for him to go to school. That was the longest one hour! Every two minutes AJ kept asking if it was time to go yet as he walked around the house with his backpack on.
When the time finally came we got in the car. He said "I'm so excited to go to school" probably 74 times during the 5 minute drive. We got there and pulled up he unbuckled and had his backpack back on before the car for even opened. He would have walked straight into the school but I made him pause to take some pictures.
At pick up time his teacher said he had a great day and "he talks a lot!" Anderson kept saying how excited he was for the rest of the day and how "it was a great day"!
Tessa did miss her brother! The whole way to the YMCA she kept asking me "where AJ go"? She was so happy to see him when we picked him up.

Bad bug
AJ, Tessa and I were helping a friend decorate for a wedding at the Cherokee Historical Society building ( in Canton). While we were decorating the porch we saw two very interesting caterpillars. Tessa accidentally bumped one and it HURT! I didn't realize how bad the caterpillar was until we got home and googled it. The furry caterpillar (a furry puss caterpillar aka the toxic toupee) has poisonous spikes ( it is the most venomous caterpillar in the U.S.) that can be extremely painful if touched.
Tessa had a miserable day until we really treated her wound. We had some sting wipes that were able to sooth it some and have her some ibuprofen and benadryl. She was able to sleep well and in the morning she felt fine. It has since scabbed up but seems to be healing fine other than that.

Haircuts...finally
The boys NEEDED haircuts. AJ let me cut his hair with no problems. Nathan wanted to keep his hair long but he needed his side burns and duck tail cut. We made a deal- I would take him for his first scissor cut. He told the barber what he wanted and she started cutting. It was great, i didn't have to deal with his crying. It was worth it.
