(3rd &) 4th of July

Kennesaw always does their firework show on the 3rd of July. David had to work the Peachtree Road Race on the morning of the 4th so he was unable to come watch the fireworks with us. Grandpa, our friends the Judsons, Nathan, AJ and I walked downtown to watch the fireworks. Along the walk the boys saw some fireflies- they usually don't see them because when the fireflies are out the kids are asleep.
We found some more friends from church and decided to sit with them. All the kids played and chased fireflies until the fireworks started. The boys say and watched them for a few minutes, until some fireflies caught their eye then it was of to chase more fireflies for the rest of the show.
On the 4th we did fireworks at our house. The kids had a lot of fun watching the fountains, morters and Roman candles. AJ and Nathan got to hold some sparklers and all three of them loved the pop-its.

Scotland Yard

We found the game Scotland Yard at a game store in Kennesaw and I had to have it! It it's a game that my family played a lot of while I was little. We played it with my family while we were in Iowa and Nathan really liked it. Being 'Mr. X' is right up Nathan's alley. He loves being the bad guy.
When I was little and played as Mr. X I used to try and cheat and take a pogo stick. Anderson said his detective had swimming powers and could swim up the river.

The ( long) drive home

We left aunt Llew's house on Monday and headed back home. We spotted for the night on Mt. Vernon, IL. In the morning as we were loading the car back up we saw a little black kitten emerge from under one of the bushes. And then We saw a second kitten come out. Someone had set a bowl of milk out for them and the mother. There ended up being four kittens in total. The kids wanted to bring them home with us or have its take them to a shelter. Zoey wanted to make them but Bonnie wouldn't let her because once you name them, you own them. We settled on telling the front desk of the hotel that they were there and asked them to call shelter.

Family vacation at aunt Llews house

We had a great time with all of the Anderson family at aunt Llew's house this year. We did lots of fun stuff, we had an early Christmas, played at the splash pad, rode a carousel, went to the park a lot, walked Edna a lot and played a lot of games.
Warning, lots of pictures.
