Halloween

Happy Halloween! This year we had Captain Phasma, the Dark Knight, and Vamperina. All 3 kids got to participate in the Halloween parade at KPES.

Last year, we had so many trick-or-treaters, this year we bought double the candy, and I sent David out with the boys to collect candy (Tessa went with our neighbors across the street). I put a lawn chair outside and sat waiting. I waited and waited, we hardly had any kids come by. I guess word got out, that a few streets over, some houses were handing out full size candy bars.. All the kids had a great Halloween. They saw lots of friends from school, and came home with lots of candy!
I would like to note that the boys originally decided that this year they would like to go together as the Marx brothers. Nate waas going to be Groucho, AJ wanted to be Harpo and David was going to go as Chicco. Unfortunately, it was too hard to find any little kid costumes for the Marx brothers. Who knows, maybe you will see it in a future post, but we couldn't make it work this year.

Wedding family pictures

Since we missed family pictures at Kristen's wedding, we decided to get all dressed up (for church) and took family pictures after. We went to a park in downtown Kensington, set up the tripod and took a few pictures. So, pretend like they are from the Wedding, and enjoy!

Aunt Kristen and Uncle Atkins wedding

We were so lucky to go back to Georgia for aunt Kristen and uncle Atkins wedding!  Their wedding was so fantastic! Unfortunately, our weekend wasn't as stellar.
We left in the afternoon on Thursday (Maryland traffic mistake) after David and the kids got out of school and headed to Georgia, we got to Sherry's house Friday around noon. We had a little time to relax before heading up to the venue for the rehearsal. Somewhere at the rehearsal, I was made wedding planner and had to direct the bridal party in how the ceremony was to go. No big deal.  On Saturday, our cute little flower girl and ring bearers, david and I got in the van to go to the venue early to be there in time for family pictures. We made it to Sugarloaf Pkwy when the alternator in the van went out. Luckily, we were able to back into a turning lane for a Wells Fargo. We called USAA to get a tow truck dispatched immediately, then we called Sherry to see if they could pick us up. Luckily they had just left so they came to pick us up. David and I decided that I would go (since I was the wedding coordinator), and he would Uber up after the van was towed to a garage.

The wedding was beautiful! Kristen and Atkins are perfect for each other!
David ended up waiting over 3 hours for the van to be towed, so all the repair shops were closed by that time. David made it to the wedding during the reception, in enough time to watch Nathan steal the show on the dance floor with his awesome flossing and super sweet worm!
We caught a lucky break Sunday morning, the repair shop the van was towed to was able to put in a new alternator and we were able to leave and head back to Maryland at 1 that afternoon.
(the pictures are from the rehearsal, we didn't end up getting family pictures from the wedding)
