A Wizard of Oz Christmas

Nathan's class just finished reading the book The Wizard of Oz and they decided to have a themed Christmas party. It was a lot of fun. We decorated Emerald City castles and Dorthy's house ginger bread houses. The students all dressed up as characters from the movie, Nathan decided to dress up as Oz. They had a whole lot of fun with it.

Andrew's 8th birthday

Happy happy birthday Andrew!
We miss you so so much. We love coming to visit you and feeding the ducks.
Andrew, this birthday was a little harder for me. 8 is a milestone birthday. I wish you were here and that your Daddy would have the opportunity to baptize you. I wish I could hold you and tell you how much I love you and how proud I am of you. I watch Nathan grow and think of what you you would be like and how you two would probably play together and be best friends. Nathan has always had a tender heart for you. I feel like the veil is thinner between you two. I miss you. Everyday I miss you but there is happiness knowing I will get to see you and hold you again one day. I love you Andrew John!

Our Christmas tree

We went and picked out our Christmas tree from the Shriners and got some boiled peanuts too.

Nathan's first piano recital

Nathan started piano lessons in September and he played his first recital today. He had practiced his song for a few weeks and he was ready. He was only going to play one song, Jingle Bells. After he got started, he decided he wanted to play two more songs so he played Jolly Old St. Nicholas and Merrily We Roll Along.
He did a good job. I am so proud of him!
Thank you Ms. Wood for coming and watching him play. He was so happy she could come.
