Daddy is on rotation in Ft. Bragg, NC right now, and since we are homeschooling, we decided to take a field trip down to see him! We left Thursday after school and stayed for the weekend before heading home on Sunday. We explored Fayetteville and some of the surrounding area. Here are a few highlights from the trip! The downtown area was beautiful with several older buildings. We found out that Fayetteville was named after LaFayette, George Washington's friend from France. We toured the Airborne and Special Operations Museum, and found a really great snow cone shop! It was a lot of fun seeing David and the Fort Bragg area.

Happy 9th birthday AJ!
AJ is 9! I can't believe it! Our sweet, kind, silly, adventurous, snuggly little boy is 9! AJ has really been enjoying camping during the COVID shutdown, so we took him camping at the beach for his birthday. We went to Assateague State Park, a little island in Maryland that has wild horses. It was a lot of fun exploring the beach and looking for horses. We explored a bit in Ocean City and played in the waves. We took Dodger with us, it was his first time at the beach. At first, he did not like it, but after playing in the surf for a little bit, he decided he did like it. He did not like the salt water though!
AJ had simple requests for his birthday. He wanted to have a party with his friend Teddy, but because of Corona, AJ and Teddy played outside for a little bit before we headed out camping. AJ asked for a few toys but his number one request was a coupon for chocolate milk! So, I made him a coupon booklet with 5 chocolate milk coupons, 4 hot chocolate, a stay up late, a snuggle in mom and dads bed, a free movie pick and a free dinner choice coupon. He was so excited to get the coupon book. Such a simple gift brought him so much happiness!
AJ, your easy going nature and peacemaker attitude are such a joy in our home! Your laughter is contagious and flows so easily. Your sense of humor is great and I love how you like a good pun. Being your teacher has taught me more about you, how smart you are. You are a sponge, soaking up the knowledge. You work hard so you can play hard. You are so creative! You decided years ago that you wanted to be an engineer when you grow up, and you are always coming up with new creations with the brain flakes or magna tiles. We love you so much AJ! We are so lucky to have you as part of our family!
