Labor day weekend

We had a fun Labor day. It started with a parade in Kensington. We walked to the parade and saw some friends from church that we watched the parade with. And after the parade, we went and got slurpees from 7-11. Our next adventure too is to Alexandria VA to see the Coast Guard "tallship", the Barque Eagle that docked for a few days. The Coast Guard used it as a sailing school shop to train officers. It was a lot smaller than the HMS Victory in Portsmouth, but in much better condition. The Eagle was built by the Germans just before WWII and stolen.

Cool Army stuff

Grandpa Rygmyr came for a visit and run the Army 10 miler. We went to packet pick up with him and they had lots of cool Army stuff to check out. The kids had a blast gunning and jumping out of helicopter's and playing on dune buggies. I think the 6th generation of Rygmyr soldiers may have convinced.

A day at the National Zoo

We took a trip to the zoo with a few friends. This time, we saw a lot more animals than we did last time. The kids were very disappointed that there was no cotton candy, so I made it up to them by buying them slurpees in the way home.
